Lord of the Rings Real Person Slash (Lotrips), Alternate Universe.
dom, elijah, other lotr cast members, fictional characters and real people.
contains some slash. rated R.

also, vampirefic = character death. consider yourself warned.
the author knows none of this happened (I mean, really) and encourages you to believe the same.
no harm meant to real people.

27 chapters, 33,000~

Look familiar? Ya rly!

A few people have contacted me recently asking where they could find this story. It was originally hosted at dombillijah.com, then disappeared when the crappy host went ass-up on us. So I've reposted it to LJ to give it a more permanent home online.

This story was completed back in 2004. I feel a bit squirmy just looking at it; it's one of those stories that I feel terribly embarassed about in hindsight. My writing style has matured so much since then (at least, I think so), and yet so many people were generous enough to like it back then ♥

It still stands as the longest thing I've written. And, I think the last WIP I posted. The default icon at [livejournal.com profile] hopeful_fiction is a scan of a little notebook I used to carry around to scribble bow notes in, it tickled [livejournal.com profile] monkeycrackmary pink when she saw me use it the first time we met (it was pink and had a ballerina teddy bear on the cover).

I've uploaded all the banners and fanart for the story as well, as they ended up being part of the whole bow-parcel. There are also additional stories in the verse - by me and by other people - which I will re-post to [livejournal.com profile] hopeful_fiction at some point as well.

Anyhoo. There you go! *toes ground*

Now that dombillijah.com is back, I've just gone and re-uploaded the zine website.

I've linked to the stories that were posted to [livejournal.com profile] lotripping, if you're an author and you've posted your story elsewhere - could you drop me the link?

Thank you! :)

Lotripping: Lotrips Zine 2004

Well! It's now been pretty much exactly 18 months since the zine was released. which means the wonderful authors are now allowed to post their zine stories on the intarwebs!

Lotripping: Lotrips Zine 2004

Some zine stats:

  • The zine has 24 pieces, including two illustrated drabbles.

  • The word count for the entire zine is approximately 111,000.

  • The project was first considered on November 4, 2003.

  • It was released on August 24, 2004.

  • 261 copies of the zine have been sold, the latest on the 25th of January, 2006.

  • [Being sold at the base price means no profits were made by creators, but cafepress have collected $3404.64 on zine sales.]

The zine is a collection of stories from a somewhat infamous generation of the lotrips fandom, including authors such as [livejournal.com profile] shaenie, [livejournal.com profile] mcee, [livejournal.com profile] karri, [livejournal.com profile] rosemending, [livejournal.com profile] _ming, [livejournal.com profile] beizy, [livejournal.com profile] bunniewabbit, and more. It was coordinated and edited by yours truly.

[livejournal.com profile] lotripping is the community created for readers to leave feedback on zine stories. Authors are now welcome to post their stories there. This'll also mean I'll see where you're posting them, and link to them from the Lotripping website (unless you have objections). Please leave feedback for the authors if you read their stories - I can attest to the fact that every single one of them worked very hard on it, and that fact is reflected in the quality of the work.

The zine is still available for purchase, and will be for the forseeable future.

I'll also take this opportunity to say that dombillijah.com, my lotrips fan hosting domain, is still up and running. I also run another hosting domain, oscillating.net, which is multifandom. Despite my personal neglect in updating frontpages and such of late, the quality and content of each of the hostees' sites still remains high. I'm committed to keeping these domains up in order to keep an archive of the wonderful work that's been housed on them, but unfortunately, running websites is not free!

If you're feeling particularly generous and supportive of the hosting cause, I encourage you to donate to the kitty jar for the following sites:

(rsf.com is run by my partner in crime, [livejournal.com profile] monkeycrackmary).

But overall, ENJOY. That's what fandom is for.
