hope: Art of a woman writing from tour poster (jack's finale)
SADFACE. This is the final day, and final piece, of 12 Days of Cliche.

I can't think of a better note to end on than this, really. Cathy's made a beautiful vid that talks about one of the most recapitulated (but rarely extrapolated) tropes of the fandom: Jack's immortality. It's gorgeous and I love it, and watched it several billion times as I was writing yesterday's story.

Vidder: [personal profile] cupidsbow / [livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow
Fandom: Torchwood
Pairing: No Pairing
Rating: PG-13
Music: 'Juliet' by Russ Nixon, and The Tempest IV.1 read by Joseph Fiennes (from When Love Speaks)
Summary: We are such stuff as dreams are made on...

Will be posting a roundup of the whole 12 days tonight or tomorrow, once I've got my thoughts in order.

My contribution for 12 Days of Cliche today is just a wee complement to [personal profile] cupidsbow's work, Time Management, a fixit fic that excites me a lot. Cathy has drawn in various threads from what we know and what we can construe from the canonical universe, and has woven something brilliant from it. I cannot wait to see more in this 'verse.

Here's the art:

Title: Time Management
Artist: Hope ([personal profile] hope/[livejournal.com profile] angstslashhope)
Fandom: Torchwood
Medium: Photoshop
Genre: Cover art for a work of fanfiction.
Rating: G
Notes/Summary: For 12 Days of Cliché. This is cover art for [personal profile] cupidsbow’s most excellent story, Time Management (on Dth or LJ), and its associated universe.

[personal profile] cupidsbow's day again today, a vid that is part of a bigger universe; a teaser for tomorrow's story :D I cannot wait, I have been watching Cathy work on this for months. And, all right, egging her on constantly.

Here's the vid:

Title: Tango
Author: [personal profile] cupidsbow/[livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow
Fandom: Torchwood
Pairing: Jack/Ianto, Ianto/Lisa, Jack/John, Ianto/John
Rating: PG-13
Music: "El Tango de Roxanne" by Ewan McGregor and Jose Feliciano, from Moulin Rouge
Summary: Time to change your partners!

Whee! [personal profile] cupidsbow has posted her story for today, and lo, it is adorable and lovely.

Title: Five Times Torchwood Has a Close Encounter with a Sweet Young Thing
Author: [personal profile] cupidsbow/[livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow
Fandom: Torchwood
Pairing: Jack/Ianto
Rating: PG-13
Summary: "I see," said Ianto, who, sadly, was beginning to see, and was rather wishing he was still too drunk for rational thought. "You don't pay me enough for this."

Read it! on Dreamwidth or Livejournal.

I've made a 12 Days of Cliche masterlist, too. :D

In less exciting news, the internet died for a while today, and they said it would be 6 days before they fixed it. Then it magically worked again. But I don't know if that's permanent. So if I vanish (D:), that is why!

Today for 12 Days of Cliche [personal profile] cupidsbow posted an absolutely fantastic vid. It's short and sharp, a constructed reality vid about Jack in 1941, set to a 'Sing, Sing, Sing' and using archival footage as well as Who and Torchwood visuals, of course.

It is AWESOME, and so clever and glee-making, and I'm totally blown away by the fact that Cathy made this in the horrible Windows Movie Maker. VID MASTER, I TELLS YOU.

Go and watch it. It's super-shiny.

Title: 1941: The Year That Never Was!

Creep (vid) by [personal profile] cupidsbow
In which Ianto is a creep and a weirdo, but that's okay because Jack is too, and that's why they're MFEO.

Reclamation (fic/art/site/multi) by [livejournal.com profile] amand_r
Conceptualised, written and produced by amand_r, assisted by many. The epistolary fic to trump all epistolary fics. This is part of UNITs database of artefacts, scans of and notes on the contents of a metal fire proof box found in the ruins of the Hub... Made of awesome.

Ianto and Jack Dress-up Game (fanart/game) by =Kinky-chichi
Know those flash games where you pick clothes for the virtual paper doll? Well, now you can dress up Jack and Ianto in a variety of saucy combinations. So adorable and tonnes of fun.

We held gold dust in our hands (fic) by [livejournal.com profile] amand_r
A what-if-things-had-gone-differently-at-Canary-Wharf AU, in which everyone lives and everyone shags. 63,000 words of love and porn fucked-up-ness and happiness.

John Barrowman (x 3) does the Single Ladies dance by creativenuts
Judging by the other stuff made by this YouTuber, I think this is quite probably a manipped video, but it's hilarious regardless. Especially the riverdance bit.

[livejournal.com profile] loqia made gleeeeeee-inducing fanart for A Fowl Morn.

SERIOUSLY. Jack's little coy/indulgent smile! Ianto's twitchy expression and flailing! SO MUCH LOVE.

Each week I re-shuffle what goes into each section, it really depends on the weight of whatever I bookmark that week *sigh*. Though "Geekery" is not a section this time, that's only because it appears in ALL sections below.

That said, this is pretty much the perfect icon for this particular set of bookmarks.

This has turned up in my bookmarks before, I think, but as it's now complete it totally deserves a rec post of its own:

A Matter of Time by [livejournal.com profile] demotu (Torchwood, Jack/Ianto, NC-17)

Basically, there's an accident with Jack's vortex manipulator and Ianto is zapped to 5054, into the arms of a mortal Jack in his 20s. Sex, romance and sociological & philosophical discussions on the meaning of sex and romance ensue. As does science fiction. And alien dance clubs. And laser blasters. And rogue space ships crewed by smugglers and mercenaries. And more time travel, mystery, tragedy, sneaky plans, plottiness and hot hot porn. It's over 100,000 words and utterly delicious.
