The lovely dea_liberty has done an audio recording of my first Mister Bun story: All things bright and beautiful (yep, that one told from the toy rabbit's POV). I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE READ MY STORIES! Dea has the perfect accent, inflection and pitch for it; it really suits the story's nursery tale beginnings.

Well, I certainly didn't end up writing 150 per day, though I did hit my month's-worth word count - I wrote 7070 in total. ETA: and duh, thank you so much to the folks who signed up to the filter and cheered me on for at least the first half of the month *G* If there's another piece in particular you think I should make public, yell out & I'll consider it :D

Okay, so not that long ago deirdre_c made a comment about wanting more Sam/professors-at-Stanford fic. That reminded me that derryderrydown had gotten up to some hijinks of this flavour some time ago, mainly just scribbling random bits to each other in AIM.

Anywayz, looks like we're never going to make anything of it, but fact is, what we did write of it still exists, so Dei? This is totally for you. With the warning that the dust has SO not even been brushed off this since it was written more than a year ago, and it's totally just Derry & I doing what we seem to do best together - fucking around with daddy issues.

Lo and behold, I've actually started putting words into my 'new' werewolf 'verse story again. By its very nature, it's all over the place, but I'm trying to make myself relax and take advantage of it - allow myself to jump all over the place in the writing stages instead of grinding to a halt as I attempt to push at one particular bit that won't budge.

At any rate, a small handful of people expressed excitement at the prospect of a new story in this 'verse, so I thought I'd do that WIP meme thing again - where I post snippets of in-progress stories. And, well, this is the only one really in progress at the moment. All of the others have not been worked on since forever, or have no more than a line or two, or are no more than twinkles in my eye at this stage.

I feel a bit weird about this story, now. It's become fanfiction of my fanfiction. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it departs very much from the canon we know and into my own head, which makes me a bit anxious (i.e. why would people want to read that??)

But we'll see how it goes. I've been thinking of these things for a long time, so it will be good to try and express them (ain't art grand?).

Oooh bummer. I just discovered JB HiFi (Australian discount DVD store) have an online store. With cheap DVDs. And cheap shipping within Australia (and cheap intl shipping too, I must say). And a really cool interface that allows you to have a wishlist etc too.

And, um, I might just have purchased Seasons 1 & 2 of Carnivale, and Season 5 of Six Feet Under. I would have got Deadwood S3 as well, but it's still a bit pricey for me (even on special). ALSO I JUST SPENT $120 ON DVDS I NEED TO HIDE THE CREDIT CARD, NOW. O_O

A few people have contacted me recently asking where they could find this story. It was originally hosted at dombillijah.com, then disappeared when the crappy host went ass-up on us. So I've reposted it to LJ to give it a more permanent home online.

This story was completed back in 2004. I feel a bit squirmy just looking at it; it's one of those stories that I feel terribly embarassed about in hindsight. My writing style has matured so much since then (at least, I think so), and yet so many people were generous enough to like it back then ♥

It still stands as the longest thing I've written. And, I think the last WIP I posted. The default icon at hopeful_fiction is a scan of a little notebook I used to carry around to scribble bow notes in, it tickled monkeycrackmary pink when she saw me use it the first time we met (it was pink and had a ballerina teddy bear on the cover).

I've uploaded all the banners and fanart for the story as well, as they ended up being part of the whole bow-parcel. There are also additional stories in the verse - by me and by other people - which I will re-post to hopeful_fiction at some point as well.

Anyhoo. There you go! *toes ground*

I wrote a fic that is scribbly and lame and confused about what version of the English language it thinks it's supposed to be using, not to mention what cultural era. But, um, it has Mister Bun in it, and that's a plus, right?
